HMRC Tesla mileage claims: what UK Tesla drivers need to track
If you use your personal Tesla for work, the useful record is simple: where you went, when you went, how many business miles you drove, and why the trip was business-related.

HMRC's approved mileage rates for cars and vans are 45p per mile for the first 10,000 business miles in the tax year, then 25p per mile after that. That applies to using your own vehicle for work, including electric cars.

What to keep for a clean mileage record
Why Tesla owners need a different workflow
Generic mileage apps often depend on phone GPS, work-hour rules, saved places, or manual logging. A Tesla-specific workflow can start from the car journey itself: capture trips, send new journeys to an Inbox, classify them quickly, and export a clean report when you need it.
That is the Taxel wedge: automatic Tesla trip detection, fast Business or Personal classification, and claim-ready mileage reports without spreadsheet cleanup.
